How You Can Help
|
|
The Major Way to
Help
|
|
The Retreat Center has certain fixed costs such as water, gas, sewage,
and electricity bills. It also has to support Rinpoche's two lamas.
The major way that you can help is to utilize the retreat center so
that all the rooms are filled up. We have priced the rooms so that it
is affordable to do a retreat at Crestone and we have the remarkable
guidance from Thrangu Rinpoche's lamas. It would be wonderful if you
could tell all dharma students about this website and about what is
one of the most beautiful retreat centers in North America.
Secondly, Namo Buddha Publications is selling Dharma books at retail
and below retail price and all profits go towards financing the Retreat
Center and also Thrangu Rinpoche's many activities. So if you can purchase
books, videos and other items, this will help in financing the retreat
center. |

Helping sponsor
the Lamas and the Retreat Center with a monthly
donation.
|
| If a number of Thrangu Rinpoche's students and persons interested in
the Vajra Vidya Retreat Center were to give just $ 10 per month, the retreat
center would be able to support the lamas and their teaching at other
centers as well as keeping the rates low so that everyone can come and
do a retreat in Crestone, not just the wealthy. The retreat center has no paid positions
except for the cook who gets essentially free room and board. |
Donating items
that are needed
|
| The dining room table, the rugs on the floor, the garden which is producing
fresh vegitables for the retreat center, the washing machine, the computers
and tables in the office, the bookcases, all the shrine objects and many
of the thangkas have all been donated to Vajra Vidya Retreat Center thus
keeping the cost down for the retreat center. Generally, this has
happened when generous individuals have called the center and said that
they had something and wanted to know if it would fit into the center.
For many items a tax letter is also available. |

Books and Shelves
for the Library of Ancient Wisdom
|
| Thrangu Rinpoche envisioned having a library at the Vajra
Vidya Retreat Center which will house both western Dharma books
and also ancient Buddhist texts from the Far East. Rinpoche
has already sent over 100 Tibetan books to the centeris and
is sending a Tengjur and Kangjur for the center. The retreat
center is perfect for preserving materials because it is in
an extremely low humidity area, the 8-inch concrete walls and
5 inches of foam lend to a very even temperature distribution
and to a fairly indestructible building. Already, over 300 Western
dharma books have been donated and catalogued at Vajra Vidya.
If you want to donate good quality Dharma books, they will be
greatly appreciated.

Inviting the Lamas to help teach in other centers
|
| If you are interested in helping the lamas set up a teaching
tour so that other centers can benefit from their vast experience
and knowledge of Thrangu Rinpoche and the Buddhist teachings,
we would like to hear from you. |
